Election of Cathaoirleach Minutes: Cllr. Fitzmaurice thanked everyone for their support over the past year. He sought nominations for the position of Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District for the forthcoming year. On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Brennan SECONDED by Councillor Conboy It was AGREED that Councillor Marty McDermott be elected Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his successor shall be appointed in accordance with law. As there were no other nominations, Cllr. McDermott was deemed to be elected.
Cllr. McDermott thanked the members and stated that he was honoured to hold the position of Cathaoirleach for the second time and looks forward to working with everyone. The members congratulated Cllr. McDermott and wished him well in his new role, and paid tribute to the out-going Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Fitzmaurice, for the excellent work carried out during his term.

Election of Leas-Cathaoirleach Minutes: Cllr. Fitzmaurice sought nominations for the position of Leas-Cathaoirleach of Roscommon Municipal District for the forthcoming year. On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Conboy SECONDED by Councillor Fitzmaurice It was AGREED that Cllr. Brennan be elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his successor shall be appointed in accordance with law. As there were no other nominations, Councillor Brennan was deemed to be elected.
Cllr. Brennan thanked everyone. The members congratulated him and wished him well in his position for the forthcoming year.
Cllr. Fitzmaurice handed over the chairing of the meeting to Cllr. McDermott.

Holland The following meeting dates were AGREED by all the members for the forthcoming year - Monday, 20th July, 2026 at 9.30 a.m. Monday, 14th September, 2026 at 9.30 a.m. Monday, 16th November, 2026 at 9.30 a.m. Monday, 18th January, 2027 at 9.30 a.m. Monday, 8th March, 2027 at 9.30 a.m. Monday, 17th May, 2027 at 9.30 a.m.
