Evaluation of Municipal District Funding applications.

Minutes:

On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Kilduff

            SECONDED by Councillor Fallon

It was AGREED to adopt the allocations under the Athlone Municipal District Project Funding Scheme 2016 as follows –

 

·         Clonown Community Ltd                                                              €24,000

·         Athleague Community Centre                                                   €19,000

·         Tisrara Community Centre                                                           €6,000

·         Gerry O’Malley Memorial Committee                                    €12,500

·         Culleen Hall                                                                                        €8,500

·         Suck Valley Development Co-Op                                                              €5,000

·         Athleague Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann                                  €4,000

·         Skyvalley Rovers                                                                              €6,000

·         Bealnamullia Handball Alley                                                         Deferred

·         South Roscommon Singers Circle                                              Deferred

·         Brideswell Pattern Festival                                                          Deferred

 

Clonown Community Ltd

20 % of overall project was approved up to maximum of €24,000 to allow the group apply for matched funding under the Leader Programme.  This is subject to a successful leader application lodged in 2017.  Approved in principle subject to the following:

·         Articles of Association

·         Registration with PPN

·         Tax Clearance Certificate

·         Lease Agreement

 

Athleague Community Centre

20 % of overall project was approved up to maximum of €19,000 to allow the group apply for matched funding under the Leader Programme.  This is subject to a successful leader application lodged in 2017.  Approved in principle subject to the following:

·         Articles of Association

·         Registration with PPN

·         Tax Clearance Certificate

·         Proof of Ownership

 

Tisrara Community Centre

A total of €6,000 was approved towards the cost of the following eligible works: 

·         Pre-slab ceilings in meeting room and kitchen, re-slab, skim and insulate (€3,300)

·         Replace damaged flashing on main centre roof and insulate underneath (€2,700)

·         Repair cracks to building (€1,400)

 

Gerry O’Malley Memorial Committee

A total of €12,500 was approved for works as outlined. 

 

Culleen Hall

A total of €8,500 was approved towards the cost of the following eligible works: 

·         New Heating Circuit Breaker (€2,500)

·         Replace Stage Curtain Rail (€1,800)

·         Pump internal wall voids (Bead) (€2,000)

·         Toilets upgrade (€2,500)

 

Suck Valley Development Co-Op

A total of €5,000 was approved towards the cost of the following eligible works:

·         Website Development (€5,920)

 

Athleague Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann               

A total of €4,000 was approved towards the cost of the following eligible works:

·         Printing Brochure (€1,845)

·         Signage (€553.50)

·         Sound System for fleadh festival (€2,270)

 

Skyvalley Rovers

A total of €6,000 was approved for works as outlined.

 

Bealnamullia Handball Alley

The project was deferred to 2017 funding.  Detailed information will be required on the project and relevant costings to progress this application.  In addition clarification on access and ownership will be required to process this application further.

 

South Roscommon Singers Circle

The project was considered premature for 2016 Funding and was deferred to 2017 funding.

 

Brideswell Pattern Festival

The project was considered premature for 2016 Funding and was deferred to 2017 funding.

            SECONDED by Councillor Keogh

It was AGREED that all groups should acknowledge Roscommon County Council via signage.
