Feedback from the Town Team Meetings Minutes: Cllr. McDermott provided an update on behalf of the Roscommon Town Team, noting that a strong emphasis is currently being placed on maintaining the town’s appearance in advance of the upcoming Tidy Towns Awards inspections. Cllr. Fitzmaurice delivered an update from the Castlerea Town Team, highlighting the success of the recent Easter egg hunt held in Somers Park.

Approval of Civic Reception Request Request from Councillor Conboy: “That Roscommon County Council honour at the next civic reception, Fiona Tully, St. Coman's Handball Club, following her achievement at the All-Ireland Ladies Handball Senior Singles 40x20 title on Saturday 14th March in Croke Park”.
Minutes: Request from Cllr. Conboy On the PROPOSAL of Cllr. Conboy SECONDED by Cllr. Holland It was AGREED by all the members that Roscommon County Council honour Fiona Tully, St. Coman's Handball Club, following her achievement at the All-Ireland Ladies Handball Senior Singles, 40x20 title on Saturday 14th March in Croke Park. Tribute was paid to the excellent work being carried out in handball across County Roscommon.

Correspondence E-mail from Minister Browne’s office re. 59.25 Minutes: Lorcan Flynn read one item of correspondence as circulated- · Email from Minister Browne re. 59.25 The members expressed their appreciation for the Department’s response, which outlined the funding provided in recent years. They also acknowledged the significant efforts of Roscommon County Council in responding to Storm Eowyn, particularly in undertaking works at their own expense despite the uncertainty surrounding reimbursement.
The outstanding repair works to the crypt in Ballintubber, arising from damage caused by Storm Eowyn, was discussed and On the PROPOSAL of Cllr. Holland SECONDED by Cllr. Fitzmaurice It was AGREED to write to Mark Keaveney, Director of Services, seeking funding to carry out the necessary repair works to the crypt.

Votes of Congratulations/Sympathy Minutes: Votes of congratulations were extended to the Roscommon Senior Football Team on winning the Connacht Final. Congratulations were also conveyed to the Roscommon U-20 footballers on securing the Connacht U-20 Football Title and also to the Roscommon Minor team on their Connacht Minor Football success. Congratulations were also extended to all the Managers and back-room staff who contributed to their level of fitness and overall success.
Congratulations were also extended to Cllr. Dineen, who was duly recognised as a member of the Roscommon Connacht- winning team of 25 years ago, with the team honoured as special guests at the 2026 Connacht Senior Football Final in Dr. Hyde Park.
The Roscommon minor ladies were also congratulated on making history this year by winning their first-ever Connacht “A” Minor Championship Title.
Congratulations were also conveyed to Cloonfad United on winning the Roscommon & District Football League recently.
Members extended their condolences to Cllr. Liam Callaghan on the passing of his brother, Ollie, and observed a minute’s silence as a mark of respect.

A.O.B. Minutes: The following issue was raised · Serious safety concerns at a junction on the new section of the N60 near Oran Cemetery and On the PROPOSAL of Cllr. McDermott SECONDED by Cllr. Fitzmaurice It was AGREED by all the members to issue a letter to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) asking them to provide a right-hand slip lane for traffic approaching from the Westport direction, enhanced road markings to better define the junction layout and additional signage, including illuminated or high-visibility signage, to provide advance warning to drivers, particularly at night.
Members expressed the view that failure to implement these measures presents a significant risk and could result in a serious accident.
