There were no declarations of interest from the Members.

In accordance with Section 22(c) and Part V of the Local Government Reform Act, 2014 to elect the Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his/her successor shall have been appointed in accordance with law.

Cllr. Brennan thanked everyone and remembered the late Cllr. Anthony Waldron. He sought nominations for the position of Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District for the forthcoming year.

On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Brennan

             SECONDED by Councillor McDermott

It was AGREED that Councillor Fitzmaurice be elected Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his successor shall be appointed in accordance with law. As there were no other nominations, Cllr. Fitzmaurice was deemed to be elected.

Cllr. Fitzmaurice thanked the members and said that he looks forward to working with everyone during the coming year. The members congratulated Cllr. Fitzmaurice and wished him well in his new position.

Cllr. Brennan handed over the chairing of the meeting to Cllr. Fitzmaurice.

It was AGREED that Cllr. Connolly Conboy be elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until her successor shall be appointed in accordance with law. As there were no other nominations, Councillor Connolly Conboy was deemed to be elected.

Cllr. Connolly Conboy thanked everyone. The members congratulated her and wished her well in her position for the forthcoming year.
