Disclosure of Conflict of Interest (Section 177 of the Local Government Act 2001 as amended) Minutes: There were no declarations of interest from the Members.

Election of Cathaoirleach In accordance with Section 22(c) and Part V of the Local Government Reform Act, 2014 to elect the Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his/her successor shall have been appointed in accordance with law. Minutes: Greg O’Donnell, A/Director of Services opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. He sought nominations for the position of Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District for the forthcoming year. On the PROPOSAL of Councillor McDermott SECONDED by Councillor Fitzmaurice It was AGREED that Councillor Larry Brennan be elected Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his successor shall be appointed in accordance with law. As there were no other nominations, Cllr. Brennan was deemed to be elected.
The members congratulated Cllr. Brennan and wished him well in his new position. Cllr. Brennan thanked the members and said that he looks forward to working with everyone during the coming year. Greg O’Donnell, A/Director of Services congratulated Cllr. Brennan on Mark Keaveney’s behalf.

Election of Leas-Cathaoirleach In accordance with Section 22(c) and Part V of the Local Government Reform Act, 2014 to elect the Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his/her successor shall have been appointed in accordance with law. Minutes: Greg O’Donnell, A/Director of Services sought nominations for the position of Leas-Cathaoirleach of Roscommon Municipal District for the forthcoming year. On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Fitzmaurice SECONDED by Councillor Scahill It was AGREED that Councillor McDermott be elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his successor shall be appointed in accordance with law. As there were no other nominations, Councillor McDermott was deemed to be elected.
Councillor McDermott thanked everyone. The members congratulated Councillor McDermott and wished him well in his position for the forthcoming year.

Fix dates on which the Municipal District Meetings will be held within the period to 26th June, 2025 PROVISIONAL DATES FOR ROSCOMMON MUNICIPAL DISTRICT MEETINGS 2024/2025 Thursday, 11th July, 2024 at 9.30 a.m. Thursday, 12th September, 2024 at 2 p.m. Thursday, 14th November, 2024 at 9.30 a.m. Thursday, 16th January, 2025 at 2 p.m. Thursday, 6th March, 2025 at 9.30 a.m. Thursday, 15th May, 2025 at 2 p.m.
Minutes: Greg O’Donnell handed over the chairing of the meeting to Cllr. Larry Brennan. The provisional list of dates for meetings was discussed. It was proposed to change the July meeting from Thursday 11th July to Wednesday 10th July to facilitate training for the newly elected members. All other dates were agreed.

Fitzmaurice The following list of meeting dates were AGREED for the forthcoming year Wednesday, 10th July, 2024 at 9.30 a.m. Thursday, 12th September, 2024 at 2 p.m. Thursday, 14th November, 2024 at 9.30 a.m. Thursday, 16th January, 2025 at 2 p.m. Thursday, 6th March, 2025 at 9.30 a.m. Thursday, 15th May, 2025 at 2 p.m.
