There were no declarations of interest from the Members.

John Mockler, Senior Engineer presented the Specified Development under Section 179 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 and Article 81 of Part 8 of Planning and Development Regulations 2001(amended)- L7055 Road Enhancement Scheme in Roscommon Town between the junction of the L7055 with the L1812 (Golf Links Road) and its intersection with the N61, Athlone Road in the townland of Carrowroe.

The Members welcomed the Part 8 and a discussion took place on the following matters:

·         Lighting

·         Improvements to drainage

·         New historical feature

·         Trees

·         Materials to be used

·         Outdoor seating

·         Placement of poles

It was AGREED by all the members that the scheme will incorporate a biodiversity corridor instead of another strip of grass.

It was AGREED by all members to adopt the Part 8 for the L7055 Road Enhancement Scheme, Roscommon town subject to the amendment agreed above.
