Report on proposed Part VIII for the development of a car park & amenity area at Castlerea Swimming Pool situated at the Demesne Townland, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon Minutes: John Mockler outlined to the members the background to the project along with details of the Part VIII process as per the Chief Executive’s report (included with the Agenda).
On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Fitzmaurice SECONDED by Councillor Dineen It was AGREED by all the members that the proposed development should proceed as outlined in the Chief Executives report without any variation or modification.

Roscommon Minutes: On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Creaton SECONDED by Councillor Fitzmaurice It was AGREED that the road located within the Westview Housing Development at Cloonfad East Townland, Cloonfad, Co. Roscommon be declared a public road.

Festivals & Events Grant Scheme 2018 Minutes: John Mockler outlined the details of the new Festivals & Grant Scheme for 2018 and clarified that the Roscommon Municipal District will still accept applications of a capital nature under the Roscommon Municipal District Fund Grant Scheme 2018.

Correspondence · Letter from Minister Denis Naughten attached · Letter from Ballyleague Christmas Lights Committee attached Minutes: The contents of a letter from Minister Denis Naughten was noted by all regarding our request for the installation of fast charging units for e-cars in Roscommon.
The contents of a letter to Ballyleague Christmas Lights Committee was noted and it was agreed by all the members to reply to this group and advise them that a joint application from the Ballyleague/Lanesboro Collaboration Group will only be accepted from the group itself after it has been formed.

Minutes: The following items were raised · The schedule of footpaths requiring work in Roscommon Town · Failure by the ESB to reinstate the site after they carried out work at the Walk · Request for Roscommon MD to write to EIR concerning the very bad condition of the manhole covers on some footpaths as they are a potential trip hazard · Acknowledgement of the work carried out in Portrun in such a short time frame · Request for information on Clár Funding Scheme and funding for Safety Work at Schools · Weight restriction requested for the Walk · Request for a pedestrian crossing on Circular Road in the vicinity of the Walk · Update requested on works at Main Street & Lanesboro Street and a request that Abbey Street be added to the Schedule of Works for 2018 · Update on Local Improvement Scheme applications received · Request for a pedestrian crossing at the Nursing Home in Ballyleague · Request for a mini roundabout at Hells Kitchen in Castlerea · Request for a pedestrian crossing at Cahills Supervalu in Castlerea · Request for a pedestrian crossing at the Brothers of Charity in Castlerea · Update requested on pedestrian crossing at Castle Street, Roscommon which is part of the Capital Programme and also the Roscommon Town Plan. · Request that the pedestrian crossing at Main Street in Castlerea be painted in 3D as a pilot project to see if it would slow down traffic approaching the crossing · Request for yellow box at the entry to Castlerea Prison to allow access for emergency vehicles
