It was AGREED to seek an urgent meeting with Department of Justice Officials to clarify its alleged  plansfor the accommodation of Asylum Seekers in a direct provision centre in the former Shannon Key West Hotel, Rooskey.

 It was also unanimously agreed that Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District members would be invited to attend the meeting when arranged.

Mr Shane Tiernan undertook to contact Department Officials with a view to securing a meeting as soon as possible as members re-iterated their concern at the urgency of the situation.
