Election of Cathaoirleach In accordance with Section 22(c) and Part V of the Local Government Reform Act, 2014 to elect the Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his/her successor shall have been appointed in accordance with law. Minutes: On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Fitzmaurice SECONDED by Councillor Shanagher It was AGREED that Councillor Leyden be elected Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until her successor shall be appointed in accordance with law.
As there were no other nominations, Councillor Leyden was deemed to be elected.
Councillor Leyden thanked everyone at the meeting and stated that she looked forward to working with the other members, the staff of Roscommon County Council and the media in the forthcoming year. She thanked Councillor Dineen for all his hard work during the past year and commended him on his fairness in conducting the meetings.
Councillor Dineen congratulated Councillor Leyden and thanked everyone for all their help during the year.
Councillor’s Creaton, Shanagher, Fitzmaurice and Connolly thanked Councillor Dineen for all his hard work. They welcomed Councillor Leyden to her new position and look forward to working with her in the coming year.
John Mockler thanked Councillor Dineen and congratulated Councillor Leyden.

Election of Leas-Cathaoirleach In accordance with Section 22(c) and Part V of the Local Government Reform Act, 2014 to elect the Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District to hold office until his/her successor shall have been appointed in accordance with law.
Minutes: On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Leyden SECONDED by Councillor Shanagher It was AGREED that Councillor Fitzmaurice be elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Roscommon Municipal District. As there were no other nominations, Councillor Fitzmaurice was deemed to be elected.

Fix dates of meetings for coming year To fix dates on which the Municipal District Meetings will be held within the period to 31st May, 2019 (Provisional list of dates attached).
Minutes: It was AGREED by all the members that the venue and dates for the Roscommon Municipal District be circulated in accordance with the schedule circulated with the agenda.
Martin Lydon requested that an automated reminder of meetings be sent by email to all members.
