Pat Murtagh outlined to the members the background to the RAPID Programme.  A total of €64,500 was allocated in 2017 to Roscommon County Council under the scheme.  28 applications were submitted and on 4^th December, 2017 the RAPID evaluation sub group evaluated the applications as agreed by the LCDC.   The sub group had due regard to the RAPID strategic themes and LECP themes when evaluating the applications.  The sub group of the LCDC are now submitting their recommendations for consideration by the Athlone Municipal District.  The Department of Rural and Community Development has stipulated that payment of the grants must be made in 2017.

It was AGREED by all present to approve the recommendation of the LCDC to grant Monksland Community Limited €15,000 under the RAPID Capital Programme 2017.

The members expressed enthusiasm for this very worthwhile project in Monksland and thanked everyone involved in processing the projects to date.
