Cllr. Crosby - M14:26 - Tarmonbarry Lifting Bridge That Roscommon County Council calls on Waterways Ireland, in consultation with Transport Infrastructure Ireland, An Garda Síochána and the emergency services, to introduce fixed, publicly advertised opening times for Tarmonbarry lifting bridge, except in emergencies. The present on-demand system, whereby the bridge may open for a single cruiser which causes repeated closures of the N5, kilometre-long tailbacks and serious disruption to almost 6,000 daily road users, emergency vehicles, freight, commuters and local businesses.
With €450 million being invested in the Ballaghaderreen–Scramoge N5 scheme unrestricted bridge openings must not remain a bottleneck on this strategically important national primary route. Additional documents: |

Cllr. Fitzmaurice - M18:26 - Community Group Bridging Finance Notice of motion calling on Roscommon County Council and the Elected Members to create a micro bridging finance fund for community groups who receive small grants from Roscommon County Council. At present all community groups must spend money on projects before they can claim their grant and many small groups have inadequate funds to do this. The proposed bridging finance would be for small grants only and linked to grant amount.
