Cllr. Crosby - M19:26 - School Transport Scheme That Roscommon County Council calls on the Ministers for Education Youth and Transport, the Department of Education and Youth and Bus Éireann to comprehensively reform the School Transport Scheme, ensuring clear eligibility criteria, transparent allocation, timely communication and a responsive appeals process; confirm eligibility, seat allocations and transport arrangements at least six weeks before schools reopen for applications submitted on time; replace reliance on lotteries with adequately funded capacity; prioritise keeping siblings together and address hardship affecting working and lone parents; and provide increased Government funding to meet demand and ensure reliable access to this essential service. Cllr. Dineen, Cllr. Ward & Cllr. Cull - M20:26 - Differential Rent That Roscommon County Council amend its Differential Rent Scheme so that both full-rate and half-rate Carer’s Allowance are fully disregarded as assessable household income when calculating local authority differential rent, recognising the essential contribution of family carers to society and the support they provide within their communities.
We further request that Disability Allowance received by dependent children aged 16 and 17 years be fully disregarded as assessable household income for differential rent purposes.
In addition, Roscommon County Council should examine the approach adopted by Westmeath County Council regarding Carer’s Allowance, with a view to implementing similar provisions in County Roscommon. Additional documents: |

Cllr. Duffy - Q2:26 - Flood Relief Does Roscommon County Council have immediate access to flood barriers and mobile pumps in case of emergency flooding situations and has Roscommon County Council applied to be a Distribution Centre for the provision of emergency equipment such as pumps, aqua dams, etc?
Five local authorities have been designated as Distribution Centres - Galway City, Sligo, Mallow, Cavan, and Portlaoise. If RCC hasn't applied, what is the plan if there is a flooding situation either locally or nationally (during storms for example)?
