Minutes:

On the PROPOSAL of Councillor John Cummins

            SECONDED by Councillor Valerie Byrne

It was AGREED to adopt the minutes of the Boyle Municipal District Meeting of 14th September 2018.

 

On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Joe Murphy

            SECONDED by Councillor John Cummins

It was AGREED to adopt the minutes of the Boyle Municipal District Budget 2019 meeting of 17th October 2018.

Matters Arising

Minutes:

Councillors welcomed the information that the vacant Engineering position in the Ballaghaderreen area would be filled in December.

 

On the PROPOSAL of Councillor John Cummins

            SECONDED by Councillor Rachel Doherty

It was   AGREED to include the car park area at the Wooden Bridge, Drum, Boyle for road reconstruction and re-surfacing in the Road Works Programme 2019. It was also agreed that the condition of the Fishing Stand should be upgraded.

 

On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Liam Callaghan

            SECONDED by Councillor Valerie Byrne

It was   AGREED to request that short term Lighting Measures would be provided to improve road safety at the N4 junctions for Cootehall and Croghan.

  It was AGREED to seek an update on the situation regarding Unfinished Housing Estates in the following locations- Abbeycourt, Frenchpark, The Plains Ballinagare and Grange Manor, Tulsk.

 

On the PROPOSAL of Councillor Liam Callaghan

            SECONDED by Councillor Rachel Doherty

  It was AGREED to write to Minister of State for Justice and Equality Mr David Staunton and request that

(1) he refrain from signing any contract for the use of the former Shannon Key West Hotel, Rooskey for accommodation of refugees until such time as there is meaningful engagement with the local community on the many issues that need consideration,

(2) given the impact large numbers would have on the social infrastructure in the area that Roscommon County Council would be included in any briefings in relation to decisions on the proposal.

  It was AGREED to welcome the progress in relation to the Part 8 Proposals for the redevelopment of the former Royal Hotel site.

It was agreed to meet again to collate submissions received after the closing date for receipt of same.

To Glenn Gilmartin, Ballinameen for his Achievement in coming 1st in Ireland in Technical Graphics and Metalwork in the Junior Certificate Exam.
