Cllr Byrne proposed a vote of welcome to Mr Pat Murtagh to his first meeting in his new role with Boyle Municipal District. This was unanimously supported.

Cllr Byrne thanked his predecessor Mr Martin Lydon, for his support and co-operation with the Boyle MD members and staff and wished him continued success in the Roscommon MD. This was unanimously supported.

It was AGREED to adopt the Minutes of the Boyle Municipal District meeting of 26^th January 2018.

Mr Alan O’Connell delivered a presentation from the Town Centre Planning Unit for a Vision for Boyle and how it is envisaged to navigate the evident problems of this rural town and unlock its potential.

He informed the meeting that the plan was being presented as a Vision to start the conversation between the Local Authority and Developers and those interested in rejuvenation of the area.

He stressed that the goal was to strike a balance and neither stifle development nor dictate but to be there to inform applicants and interested parties on how to best proceed given the competitive nature of funding schemes going forward.

He referred to the positive aspects of the town e g the River, the fact that it was a planned town and its beautiful Architectural Heritage.

Members welcomed his concise report and asked when it would be presented for Public Display and consideration.

Carrick on Shannon MD had contacted Boyle MD stating that the proposed date of April 20^th in Carrick on Shannon HQ offices was not suitable and suggested April 27^th as an alternative date for the joint meeting.

Boyle MD members could not facilitate the request for a meeting on April 27^th and proposed holding it on May 18^th before the next Boyle bi-monthly MD meeting.
