·         Cllr. Waldron paid tribute to Father Michael O’ Flanagan, a native of Cloonfower, Castlerea.  He informed the members that a kayaking event from Castlerea to Athleague is planned for Heritage week, 16th to 23rd August.  It is an opportunity to commemorate Father O’ Flanagan in addition to promoting the Suck Valley Way and tourism in County Roscommon.  The members embraced the idea.

·         The issue of extra traffic on the roads at Mote Park was raised with particular emphasis on the speed of the cars.  The members acknowledged that Mote Park is very popular for walkers and requested additional signage and an information campaign highlighting the importance of drivers being careful in this area in conjunction with pedestrians wearing hi-vis jackets.

·         Enquires were also made regarding renaming Knockroe Estate in Castlerea.  A map was submitted in April 2019.  An update was promised for the next MD meeting.
